About Me
Hello. My name is Mariah Christ. My friends often say that my life should be a sitcom. I guess that is their way of saying I lead a very interesting life.
I grew up in the small village of Swansea, Illinois (Metro East St. Louis) and moved three times in my life prior to college, all within the same city. Since 6th grade, I have been laying down beats on the drums and enjoy learning guitar in my free time. I also enjoy photography, hiking, rock climbing, and skiing. I have two extra bones in my feet and my left arm was paralyzed in high school. I love planned adventure and telling and hearing stories.
I didn’t plan to be a designer. My senior year of high school, my plans and dreams completely changed when I felt called to ministry. I threw away a full-ride scholarship on music to Kansas State University to pursue youth ministry at John Brown University. I discovered art at JBU and fell in love with graphic design. Shortly thereafter, I decided to pursue two degrees, and graphic design entered the picture.
I’m introverted at heart but really love people. I am strategic, highly disciplined, and responsible. I can be fun and love to be a goofball, but I also know when it is time to work and get things done. I like having a healthy balance of structure and play in my life and work environment.
I am a mixture of many things and have become quite versatile from different experiences. I look forward to using my kaleidoscope of a life to be something fresh and new.
